Adding a CME or Medical Certificate

Feature Description:

This feature, particularly applicable for clients in a medical field, was developed in recognition of the fact that a certificate or document awarding Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits typically requires the presentation of specific information that was not programmed to be presented in Elevate’s regular certificate template. Medical Certificates are designed to allow the administrator to easily set certificate elements such as the type of credit to be issued, an expiration for the certification, and the user’s license number.

Feature Admin Settings

  • If the Medical Certificates component type is not included in your site, please contact your project manager or email elevate-support@gocadmium.com to have the feature turned on. Again, this certificate is an additional component type, and, once installed, will appear in the Component type drop down menu.
  • Just like with regular certificates, if you will be issuing a printable certificate documenting the credits awards, please submit that certificate template to your project manager or a member of our support team for inclusion in your site before using the Medical Certificates feature. Or create your own, found under Settings > Templates > Certificate Templates

  • When you’re ready to include a medical certificate in a product, begin in the Components area and select the ‘Add new component’ button.
  • In the Component type drop down menu, select ‘Medical Credits and/or Certificate’. Just like with all other components, you may give this certificate component item a specific title and description on this page as well. Then select ‘Next Step’.
  • Just like with a regular certificate, you can specify whether any of the product’s other components are prerequisites for the CME and certificate by selecting these items in the Additional Required Assets list.
To award CMEs, check the Grant Credits box. When you do that, you will be provided the option below to ‘Add Credit Type’. Fill in the appropriate information in the lines provided. If needed, you have the ability to issue partial medical credits using the Partial Credits dropdown menu.

    IMPORTANT NOTE

the credit increment options you can select from is controlled by the setting under Site Setup> General> Credits to control the decimal display.
