Cadmium Identity - Getting Started

Cadmium Identity provides trusted, secure authentication for event and continuing education software. Many different applications use it to handle login.

Logging in happens in three parts:

  1. You start at the application. Every application has its own login URL. That URL is what tells Cadmium Identity where you’re headed.
  2. Cadmium Identity confirms who you are. You’re sent here to log in with your email address and one of the available login methods, such as a password or a one-time login code.
  3. The application decides what you have access to. Once your identity is confirmed, you’re sent back to the application. The application then checks whether your account has permission to continue.

If you get stuck, knowing which part went wrong tells you where to look:

  • If you’re stuck on a Cadmium Identity screen, the issue is with logging in. Find the article that matches the step you’re stuck on.
  • If you logged in but were told you don’t have access, logging in worked and the issue is with permissions. Read Access Restricted Message.
  • If you logged in but never arrived at the application, read Getting Redirected to the Application.

Start With Your Login URL

Every site has its own unique login URL. That URL is what tells Cadmium Identity where to send you once you’ve logged in.

Use the login URL your site administrator or event organizer gave you. Some sites issue a different URL for each organization or group. Make sure you’re using the one most recently sent to you rather than an older bookmarked one.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Use the same browser for the entire login process, including any email links you open. Switching browsers partway through is a common reason people get stuck, because the new browser doesn’t know which application you were headed to. Read Getting Redirected to the Application for more details.
