504 Gateway Timeout Error — What It Means and What We're Doing About It

Status: Our Engineering team is actively investigating and working to resolve this issue.

We're Aware of the Issue

The Elevate Development Team is aware that some clients and end users are currently encountering 504 Gateway Timeout errors when attempting to access the platform. We want to assure you that this is being treated as a priority and our team is actively working to resolve it. No action is required on your part.

This article explains what a 504 error is, why it occurs, and what you can do in the meantime.

What Is a 504 Gateway Timeout Error?

A 504 error is a server-side issue — it has nothing to do with your computer, browser, or internet connection.

It occurs when one server (acting as an intermediary, such as a CDN or proxy) does not receive a timely response from the main hosting server it needs to complete your request. In plain terms: the servers are having trouble communicating with each other quickly enough.

What You Can Do Right Now

  • While our team works on a resolution, a few steps may help:
  • Refresh the page — In some cases, the error is temporary and a simple reload will resolve it.
  • Wait a few minutes and try again — If the issue persists, the servers may be under temporary load.
  • Clear your browser cache — While unlikely to fix a server-side issue, this can rule out any locally cached error pages.
  • Check back for updates — We will update the Status page: https://status.gocadmium.com/ if the issue persists.
